Every artist carries a story—a narrative woven through defining moments, triumphs, and a deep connection to their craft. For me, the harp has been my constant companion, an instrument of transformation, and a bridge to the world. My journey as a harpist, mentor, and performer has been nothing short of extraordinary, filled with moments that have defined my purpose and inspired me to keep evolving.
My journey reached new heights when I performed for VIPs, including the unforgettable experience of playing for Pope John Paul II on his first visit to Ireland. These moments underscored the universal power of music to connect people across cultures and backgrounds. Yet, for me, the magic of the harp isn’t limited to grand stages; it also comes alive in intimate settings, mentoring students and helping them overcome their own creative insecurities. I’ve discovered that teaching is as much about nurturing confidence as it is about imparting technical skills.
Over the years, I’ve expanded my influence by hosting harp festivals and advocating for the instrument’s place in contemporary music. These efforts reflect my belief that the harp is not confined to tradition; it is a versatile medium capable of innovation and storytelling. Through teaching and mentorship, I empower aspiring musicians to embrace their creativity, push
through self-doubt, and discover the joy of expression.
Now, I’m working on a proposal for an exhibition at Queens Street Studios and Gallery, Belfast. This concept blends harp music, poetry, and fine art, creating a sensory experience that transcends boundaries. This project represents the culmination of my journey—a celebration of tradition, innovation, and connection.
