Tipping Wedding Suppliers?

According to recent surveys and polls on tipping wedding suppliers, the following trends have emerged.

While it isn’t mandatory, it’s a kind gesture that is highly appreciated.

Tipping Hair and Makeup Artists

● 68% said No
● 32% said Yes

Of those who said yes:

● The majority said they would add €5 per person.
● Some gave an extra €20-€50.
● Others said they would provide gifts such as flowers, wine, or chocolates.

The Hotel/Venue

● 56% said No

● Others said that they tipped anything from €100 to €700.

The majority of people said they didn’t tip.
For those who did:

● Some stated they threw an extra portion of money in       the envelope for the band, photographer, and florist.
● A large number said they gave tips to taxi drivers   escorting guests or the bridal party.

A significant number across all surveys indicated they wouldn’t give cash but would have a gift ready, such as wine or chocolates.

As with everything for weddings, do what feels right for you. If you feel you should tip for the service you received, great! If you decide not to, that’s perfectly fine.

I have been surprised with flowers , bottles of wine and boxes of chocolates as kind gestures of appreciation for my services as a wedding supplier. Again, it is not expected but can be a lovely gesture.
